Meet Butters, a 3-year-old, happy-go-lucky Golden Retriever and the Rainier Veterinary Hospital Dog of the Month, who is melting hearts across the Sound.

Sean Thoreby and his wife had always wanted a Golden Retriever puppy. So when the couple was ready, they began their search online. Once they found her, they went back to visit Butters and the rest of her siblings in Puyallup, Wash., several times to make sure it was going to be a good fit. She captured their hearts and, in December 2015, Butters was on her way home with the Thorebys.

Named after a character on South Park, one of the couple’s favorite TV shows, Butters is a sweet people pleaser who enjoys napping with their 15-month-old daughter. She wants to be friends with everyone; however, she can get in a bit of trouble with her mischievous side.

“Butt Butt keeps everyone on their toes here at home,” Sean says. “Whether playing with her favorite squeakers or stealing all of our socks, we all cannot get enough of the joy she brings to our home.”

Rainier Veterinary Hospital has taken care of Butters since she was just 8 weeks old, and we are all so happy to see what a healthy, rambunctious sweetheart she has grown up to be.
