Jessica

Veterinary Assistant

Jessica joined our team as a Veterinary Assistant in March 2026. A lifelong dog lover, Jessica dreamed of becoming a veterinarian when she grew up. Her passion for animals, anatomy, and problem-solving led her to pursue her childhood dream in college. Jessica plans to continue school and become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine one day, and would love to specialize in Radiology. Reliable and organized, she is eager for opportunities to learn and grow in her career.

Jessica’s empathy, time management skills, and commitment to her work make her a valuable addition to our hospital. She is thrilled to be part of a team of supportive, kind, and patient people who share her values of open communication and compassionate care. While she enjoys studying anatomy, collaborating with her team, and caring for patients, what she finds most fulfilling in her role is getting to know the pets and their families and witnessing the human-animal bond. “I enjoy never knowing what breed of animal I’ll be meeting next, and what I love most about my work is seeing how much love owners have for their pets,” Jessica shared.

Education

Bachelor of Science, Biology, University of Washington

Volunteer Work

During her studies, Jessica volunteered her time in the summer to various local organizations. She supported veterinarians at Puget Sound Wildcare, assisting with dental cleanings, blood draws, and other routine procedures. She contributed to her university’s wildlife biology research on studies exploring how human outdoor recreation affects wildlife behaviors and habitat use. Additionally, Jessica volunteered at the Seattle Humane Society with summer camps for kids and caring for shelter dogs.

Home Life

In her free time, Jessica enjoys traveling, listening to music, and thrift shopping. During the summer, you can find her hiking, camping, and at the beach. In the winter, she loves snowboarding. She has two dogs, Shadow and Sunny. Shadow is a Border Collie/Husky mix who loves playing in the snow and swimming. Sunny is a Chihuahua/Corgi mix who enjoys car rides and sunbathing.
