Rainier Veterinary Hospital’s state-of-the-art veterinary hospital is open 7 days a week at 815 Rainier Avenue South in downtown Seattle.

Our modern facility was designed by the team at Axiom Design Build and features ample natural light, large windows, an inviting two-story entryway atrium, and a modern urban feel. Designed around improving the experience of patients, pet owners, and our team, our hospital includes:

  • Eight (8) exam rooms
  • Private suites for surgery and dental procedures
  • Expanded treatment spaces with separated cat and dog treatment bays
  • Secluded comfort room with private client exit for pet parents experiencing the loss of a pet
  • Dedicated digital X-ray and ultrasound room
  • Isolation rooms with separate entrance
  • Separate treatment area for cats and kittens to reduce vet visit stress
  • Dog ward with indoor/outdoor access as needed
  • Fenced outdoor dog runs with artificial grass
  • Expanded food preparation and laundry facilities
  • Ample client parking
  • Large employee conference room and continuing education classroom, break room and outdoor deck
  • Workstations and offices for medical team and hospital management

“Rainier Veterinary Hospital was founded more than 90 years ago as one of the first veterinary hospitals in the Seattle area,” shares owner Dr. Debra Nicholson. “Our team felt that it was only fitting we pay tribute to the neighborhood that helped build this rich history with a flagship facility that will serve the community for decades to come.”

In addition, we were thrilled to incorporate many iconic elements from the original practice into the new building, including finding placement for our priceless mural from renowned artist Lisel Salzer painted in 1960 and restoration of our classic neon signage by Western Neon.
