Rainier Veterinary Hospital is building towards the future with construction well underway on our new, state-of-the-art hospital. This new facility will not only meet the growing demands of the community, but will provide a unique opportunity for a full-time licensed veterinary technician to help us advance our best practices for the new facility.
To that end, we are seeking a motivated team leader who is looking for long-term employment with an independently-owned, established veterinary practice in Seattle. Candidates must be able to provide excellent customer care as well as perform the duties necessary to support the clinic and assist our veterinarians. The successful candidates must be detail oriented, reliable, and genuinely care, and be concerned for, our patients’ well-being. They will have the opportunity to continue to hone their technician skills while helping to build and train a core team of veterinary assistants. Previous experience and a valid license with the Department of Health preferred however new graduates will be considered.
Job responsibilities include patient care, client service and education, anesthesia, laboratory, surgery and support to our veterinarians, as well as many other technical and clerical skills.
Qualifications
- Active, non-restricted veterinary technician license or certification (LVT)
- Understanding of all aspects of veterinary medicine, practices and procedures (surgery and clinical)
- Expert communicator (written and verbal)
- Exceptional customer service
- Flexible, willing to perform many job duties within the hospital
- Friendly, positive, team-oriented attitude
- The desire to learn more and take the initiative
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital
