Arthur

Veterinary Assistant

Arthur has been with Rainier Veterinary Hospital since April 2024, though his connection to animals started decades earlier. He grew up around horses, chickens, ducks, and goats on his grandfather’s land, where caring for animals just felt like part of being alive. That experience stuck with him, and he’s been chasing that sense of purpose ever since.

After completing his veterinary medical clerk certification in 2021, Arthur began building his clinical experience, working in several hospitals before finding the right fit with our team. He’s worked in animal care and client service roles, and he has a particular interest in preventive care. Long term, he’s aiming to become a licensed veterinary technician with a focus on surgery or dentistry.

Arthur has a calm presence and a reliable way of showing up for others. He’s the kind of teammate who keeps things running quietly in the background and steps up without being asked. He believes that empathy, flexibility, and asking the right questions are what lead to solutions, especially when things don’t go as planned.

When asked why he chose Rainier Vet, he simply said, “The culture. The people. I’ve worked in more than five hospitals and have never met a team this committed to care.”

Volunteer Work

Before moving to Seattle, Arthur volunteered as a dog walker at the Shelby County Humane Society in Tennessee. He spent time walking shelter dogs, helping them burn off energy, and giving them a break from the stress of kennel life.

Home Life

Arthur lives with Ginger, a domestic shorthair who is loud, dramatic, and convinced is head of the household. Ginger enjoys midnight yelling sessions, surprise headbutts, and being directly underfoot at all times.

Outside of work, Arthur writes short stories, draws animals and portraits, and is currently working on a comic/visual novel project. Creativity and animals are his constants, and he’s happy whenever he’s surrounded by either one.
