Rolla

Rolla joined our team as a Veterinary Assistant in July 2026, bringing with him a lifelong connection to veterinary medicine. Growing up with a mother who has practiced in the field for nearly 30 years, he was immersed in animal care from an early age — an experience that shaped his passion and influenced him to follow his own vet med career.

His professional interests include avian medicine, veterinary pathology, and end-of-life care. Rolla is drawn to the problem-solving challenges of diagnostics and finds a deep fulfillment in helping pets feel their best. “It’s like a game, getting to decipher what is wrong with a patient who can’t speak for themselves,” he shared. “The sense of accomplishment when you help an animal get back to feeling like themselves is enough to keep me coming back.”

Compassionate and dependable, Rolla approaches each day with a positive attitude and focus on collaboration. He strives to be someone his team members can count on. With clients, he leads with patience and understanding, recognizing that each person processes difficult situations in their own way. His goal is to provide a great experience to both pets and their people. 

Rolla is grateful to be on a team of welcoming individuals guided by talented doctors, and his optimism, love for pets, and solution-oriented mindset make him a wonderful addition to Rainier Veterinary Hospital.

Home Life

When he’s not at work, Rolla enjoys hanging out with friends or indulging in one of his many hobbies. He spends his free time hiking, watching horror and science fiction movies, cooking, baking, learning new languages, and playing the piano, a skill he’s been developing for over a decade! He has three wonderful cats: Sugar, the super-sweet senior calico; Penny, the talkative black shorthair; and Iniki, the trouble-maker tuxedo.
