Tori

Tori joined the Rainier Veterinary Hospital team as a Veterinary Assistant in June 2026. Her journey into veterinary medicine grew from a lifelong interest in both science and animals, making this career path a natural way to bring the two together.

Through her early work experience, especially in emergency medicine, Tori confirmed that she loves the mix of hands-on patient care, problem-solving, and building relationships with animals and their people. She hopes to one day become a veterinarian and specialize in small animal emergency and critical care, sharpening her skills in trauma and emergency work while keeping a broad foundation in general practice. Eventually, she wants to combine her clinical experience with teaching and mentorship as a veterinary medicine professor, helping train the next generation.

Dependable, proactive, and adaptable, Tori brings an optimistic and helpful attitude to her role each day. She enjoys the versatility of her work and the fact that no two patients or days are ever the same.

“I love that veterinary medicine constantly challenges me to learn, think critically, and adapt to new situations,” Tori shared. “One of the most rewarding parts is being able to make a tangible difference in an animal’s comfort and well-being, especially when they are scared, sick, or in pain.” This deep compassion, combined with her collaborative attitude and genuine passion for connecting with pets and pet owners, is evident in how she shows up each day.

Tori takes initiative, always looking for ways to be helpful, while also valuing any opportunity to learn and grow from her team. Even on stressful or especially busy days, she brings positivity and a calm, empathetic approach. She believes clear communication and a team where everyone supports one another is key to delivering top-tier pet care.

Bachelor of Applied Science, Biomedical Sciences, University of Washington Tacoma

Volunteer Work

When she’s not helping animals at Rainier Veterinary Hospital or spending time with her own pets, Tori can be found volunteering at the Humane Society in Tacoma as a dog walker. Her work supports shelter dogs through regular enrichment, exercise, and socialization, and provides them with positive human-animal interactions.

Home Life

Outside of work, Tori enjoys attending concerts and music festivals, writing, and creating digital art. She also loves spending time outdoors and hanging out with her two dogs, Mozzarella and Oaxaca, who are lovable, goofy, and full of personality!
