What can we say other than, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! The results are in and Rainier Animal Fund raised nearly $6,000 as part of this year’s GiveBIG; more than doubling last year’s donations.

Everyone who showed their support, shared a story and donated as part of this year`s GiveBIG helped make such a difference in the lives of local pets.

Your generosity will help us be there for pet`s whose owners cannot afford the full cost of advanced veterinary care. Truly lifesavers as the need is so great. We are receiving more than 10 requests a day and the funds run out so quickly. Thank you again! It means the world to us!

Whose life will you save today? 🐾⠀
⠀
Rainier Animal Fund is the sister nonprofit of Rainier Veterinary Hospital. RAF`s mission is to help ensure advanced veterinary care is accessible to Washington pets, so that they might thrive and live healthy, happy lives with the people who love them. The organization helps to bridge the gap in care by providing resources to those pet owner families who cannot afford the full cost of advanced and surgical veterinary care. ⠀
⠀
Today and tomorrow is ‪#‎GiveBIG, Washington`s celebrated two-day online giving campaign. Rainier Animal Fund is proud to be a part of this effort.⠀
⠀
Every donation big or small counts! Please pledge your support and help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 so that we can continue to be there for local pets in need. ⠀

Love was in the air today, and Poppy Bella soaked up every bit of it! ❤️ She was so brave for her exam and, of course, got plenty of treats as a reward.

Caring for pets like Poppy Bella is what makes our work so special. Thank you for trusting us with your family! 🐶

Moose, our gentle giant, was a bit nervous for his X-rays, so we made sure to wrap him up in a safety blanket for comfort.

We understand that even the biggest hearts need a little extra care, and we’re here to make every visit as comfortable as possible for your beloved pets! 🐾

Rainier Veterinary Hospital is committed to keeping you informed about the recent cases of Avian Influenza A (H5N1), commonly known as Bird Flu, and its impact on pets in our region.

Investigations by state health authorities have connected recent Bird Flu cases to raw pet food diets. Affected pets had consumed products from two now-recalled lines:

▪️Northwest Naturals (Oregon)
▪️Monarch Raw Pet Food (California).

What Can You Do?
▪️ Bird Flu is highly pathogenic and can cause severe illness in pets. In many cases, symptoms progress rapidly and can be fatal.
▪️ We encourage pet owners to stay diligent, especially if your pet has had exposure to raw diets or sick/dead birds.
▪️ Monitor your pets for signs of illness and contact us immediately if you have concerns.

More information on the flu, prevention tips, and symptoms to watch for is included in the graphics. Your pet’s health and safety is our top priority. Stay vigilant.
