We Are AAHA Accredited and Celebrating!

Rainier Veterinary Hospital Earns AAHA Accreditation—something only 15% of vet practices in the US and Canada can say!

We Are AAHA Accredited and Celebrating!

We have big news and are so excited to share it with you! Rainier Veterinary Hospital has achieved the highest level of veterinary excellence following our evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Rainier Veterinary Hospital earned AAHA accreditation after a rigorous review of the hospital’s practice protocols, medical equipment, facility, and client service.

“I am so proud of our team,” shared Owner Dr. Debra Nicholson, DVM. “Rainier Veterinary Hospital strives to provide the highest standards of veterinary care to the community we serve. This accreditation is an acknowledgement of that hard work and our commitment to continue to hold ourselves to a higher standard.”

Continued Dr. Nicholson, “And a special thank you to all our amazing clients and supporters. You have been part of this journey and we look forward to being there for you and your pets for years to come.”

Unlike human hospitals, not all animal hospitals are required to be accredited. Pet owners can trust that an AAHA-accredited hospital follows the AAHA Standards of Accreditation, which are continuously reviewed and updated by leaders in the veterinary profession to reflect changing best practices from the cutting edge of veterinary medicine.

In order to achieve accreditation, we were evaluated by AAHA on more than 900 quality standards that go above and beyond state regulations, ranging from patient care and pain management to staff training and advanced diagnostic services.

Only about 15% of veterinary practices in the United States and Canada pass this evaluation to become accredited, and we are incredibly proud to be one of them—not only because of the hard work of our amazing team, but also because the AAHA Standards of Accreditation ensure that our practice treats your pets with the most compassionate care backed by the highest-quality veterinary medicine.

In addition, AAHA accreditation makes a difference in the level of care we provide as well as the environment of our practice, which encourages teamwork, accountability, high morale, consistency, and employee well-being. In short, it means we hold ourselves to a higher standard.
