Dogs of the Month, June 2018: Billy, Teddy, and Mickey
Diena Lukawski is the proud owner of a pack of fur babies that the Rainier Veterinary Hospital staff lovingly calls The Three Amigos: Billy (8 years old), Teddy (4 years old), and Mickey (4 years old). And we’re happy to announce that these adorable pubs are our June Dogs of the Month.
Billy and Mickey are both Maltese Mix, and Teddy is a Yorkipoo. Together, they are a bundle of love. “They are all super affectionate,” Diena says, “and they’ll smother you with kisses!” The Three Amigos love chicken, dental treats, and going for walks … on sunny days. When it’s raining, you’ll find them protected in the comfort of their stroller.
Although they might look very similar, each pooch has his own very distinct personality. Billy (full name William; nickname Bills) is the Eldest. “He’s usually calm and obedient, but he can be obstinate about doing things his way,” Diena says. In fact, he’s often the feistiest after a bath. Around his brothers, Billy definitely likes to assert himself as the Alpha dog, but he’s still the ultimate lap dog, Diena says.
Teddy (full name Theodore; nickname Ted) is the Middle Child. Diena says that Teddy is athletic—he climbs fences and jumps off of buildings. “He’s smart and learns routines quickly,” she says, “and he plays dead when it’s time to go into the crate.” Teddy can be a bit skittish and gets scared easily, but he fixes that by burrowing under a blanket.
Finally, Mickey (full name Michael; nickname Mick Mac) is the Baby. He’s independent, easy going, and loves people. Other dogs? Not so much. “He’s curious about everything,” Diena says, “and he loves to eat.” Perhaps too much, as our doctors have said Mickey’s a little chubby, weighing in at 10 pounds. But that’s just more to love, right?
The Three Amigos are frequent boarders at our clinic, where they’ve been seen their entire lives. It’s great to hear that the love we feel for them is reciprocated. “They love the staff!” Diena says. “Being boarded is stressful, but Rainier Vet staff makes the experience as good as it can get for them.”
We’re so glad to hear that, Diena. The Three Amigos are welcome here any time!
